About
  • Website: ilivetv.ru (Project is dead, domain is overdue)
  • Period: Winter 2013 - 2014
  • Description: Manufacture hardware device for wireless video-broadcasting. Develop web-based service and build website
The idea
  • Idea was to create low-cost and very portable broadcasting device, with support of video sources from multiple types of proprietary sockets. Currently it supports sources from professional HD-SDI, to user-friendly HDMI, and sends it over the air (optionally cable) to any RTMP-server;
  • Must have feature - minimum operating time 8 hours, with battery hot-swap;
  • Optionally models with "Director's display" is available. Display lets to preview image before and while broadcasting;
  • Software part is also unique - auto quality-adaptation to channel width and simultaneous broadcasting via multiple channels, like 3G + LTE, LTE + Sat or array of 3G modems.
Device
  • Case:
    • Made of aluminum, sleek and light-weight;
    • 300mm tall, 290mm wide and 40mm deep;
    • Display is 255mm (10");
    • On board: HD/SD-SDI (input), HDMI (input), Ethernet (RJ-45), 2x RF (RP-SMA (female) antenna connectors);
  • Communications
    • Support for external dual-band antenna to be used with LTE (2.5-2.7 GHz), GSM (900 Hz) or 3G (2 GHz)
    • Optional support of Wi-Fi (b/g) and Fast Ethernet (100BASE-T | RJ-45) is avaliable;
  • Power Supply: with manual hot-swap support
    • Primary battery (DC) (12V);
    • Backup battery (DC) (12V);
    • Male C13/C14 coupler (220V, 50 Hz).
Service
  • iLive service is RTMP-bridge;
  • RTMP-bridge creates direct connection between both broadcasting device and receiving point (ex.: [iLive] -> [RTMP-bridge] -> [Studio]). Entry points is geographically decentralized, so we can offer closest publishing server to you, to eliminate latency and provide real-time picture;
  • Additionally we offer video re-streaming to multiple RTMP-based servers and services like YouTube Live or UStream and etc. with or without authentication.
